This place is definitely unique and picturesque. It’s nestled in the hills and jungles and is a little bit of trek to get to but so worth it and reasonably close to town. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the staff of the property from the maids to the workers to the chef especially were incredible. The chef Diego made some of the most delicious meals we have ever had and no request was too much for them to handle. Highly recommend this place looking for those looking for an unforgettable, unique, and king/queen like experience. The staff was very helpful and responsive to us throughout or stay and wish I was still there to be honest. Thank you for a great experience

First we would like to thank Mike and Jen. They had transportation set up so we didn't have to worry when we arrived at the airport. When we arrived at the castle road entrance we were introduced by Fabian and he took us on a ride on the dune buggy to the castle to show us the property before we got to the castle and that itself was a mini excursion. We then were introduced to the whole staff which made the stay very pleasant. This castle is something you'll see in movies. If you want to stay somewhere that's different the castle is the place to be. The property is surround by greenery everywhere with streams of water and tiny waterfalls. The castle is very well built and detailed I didn't see a single shortcut anywhere. If you want to show off to your friends and family this is the place to do it. Every single person that walked thru the castle was in awe. If you want to host large gatherings this castle has so much space to entertain and has an industrial sized kitchen. There is housekeeping every morning that made it look brand new again from the night before. There is 24/7 security so we didn't have to worry about anything. The castle included our very own transportation that took us everywhere we needed to go. We were the very first ones to stay here and it was pretty much close to perfect it was like a dream staying here. We can't wait to come back here in the future to see what else is in store. Thanks again for creating something different and it'll be very hard to top this one

This place is absolutely spectacular. Literally the best location in Jaco Beach. It is on the end so you don’t get near the crowds, and it feels like your own private beach. The house is amazing, we’ll appointed, and super luxurious with an incredible staff. Mike and Jenn are as much travel agents as hosts and hooked us up with amazing surf lessons, a great day of fishing for billfish and mahi mahi, and 3 different wonderful private chefs. We were a party of 10 that ranged in ages from 11-80 and a great time was had by all. Thanks!

Mike and Jen went above and beyond to ensure our trip panned out perfectly. They were very responsive and provided many recommendations. Our trip was a bachelorette and Jen even put up some decor to welcome the bride to be upon arrival! The property backs up right to the beach - your very own private oasis! There are walkable food and drink options along the beach as well. The hosts have their very own ecosystem with property care takers, security, chefs (upon request and separately charged), drivers for transportation (upon request and separately charged), and even tour guides (upon request and separately charged)! They sure know how to take care of their guests.

Mike, Jen, Fabian, Pablo, and Marta were all excellent hosts. Accommodating, responsive, and friendly which made our stay so much more enjoyable. The property is unbelievable. Direct access to the beach is hard to beat but couple that with a short 5 min drive (20 min beach walk) into town and privacy despite being on the water puts this BnB in a league of its own. Jen and Mike gave incredible recommendations of things to do, places to eat and any other recommendations we needed. Their property manager, Fabian, helped us schedule a tour and private chef all we had to do was ask and tell them what day we would like and the rest was handle efficiently. Unbelievable customer service. Pablo and Marta stayed on site with us helping with whatever we may have needed during our stay like calling taxis, helping with check-in and check-out. The ONLY thing I would have changed is staying a little bit longer. Thank you Joya Del Pacifico for an unforgettable trip.

What a great experience, the house was in a great location. Pablo and Marta were also great,they did a excellent job keeping the place safe and clean. Fabian also was great with recommendation for restaurant and all outdoor activities. Diego the chef was excellent and high recommend, the surf and turf was amazing.

We had a wonderful month at Hilltop House. We enjoyed all of the wildlife. There are beautiful scarlet macaw that roost in the neighborhood and watching them fly by every morning and evening was a highlight. Iguana antics are sure to amuse the kids. Watching the wacky Toucan fight with his reflection was hilarious, but best by far were the daily visits from the sweetest neighborhood dog you will ever meet. Everyone was always excited to see Chloe. We all laughed so hard when she started chasing cows down the street. Our favorite part about the house was the pool and we spent 80% of our waking hours swimming or working poolside. We did have a few mechanical things fail while we were there. We didn't have internet for the first few days, and the power occasionally went out in the neighborhood, but these things are par for the course in Costa Rica. The dirt road to the house is very rough/steep. It is manageable with a 2-wheel drive, but not ideal. The ONLY thing I would have changed is staying a little bit longer. You can’t beat the views, sunrises, animals from the top deck. Monkeys, toucans, macaws, etc. We saw turtles on the beach, sloths, etc. The pool was awesome, super refreshing multiple times a day. We didn’t have a car for much of our time there (2 months) and didn’t mind walking all over, even to the bus stop on the highway multiple times to go to Jaco or Quepos, etc. You can get Ubers there as well that come from Jaco. Don’t be afraid to try the homemade tamales from the lady who has a hole in the wall shop behind the super sol. They are awesome! Pura vida! Thanks again!!

This place was the perfect home base for our vacation. My family of four (me, husband, 2-year-old, and 4-month old baby) stayed for a month. Each week, different friends and family members joined us. We had up to 11 people at a time and there was always plenty of space. We didn’t quite realize before getting there that there are three separate areas - main house, upstairs king room, and separate apartment. This worked great for our group. The pool was a lifesaver on hot days. The beach in town was absolutely beautiful, but the 15 minute or so walk up and down hot dusty hills was too much for our tiny kids. We would either hop in the car and head down, or just cool off in the pool. The kitchen and bedrooms are fully stocked and easy to use. The separate apartment was a great set up. The AC worked perfectly in all bedrooms and was perfect for kids naps on hot days. The third floor lookout is the perfect place to watch the sunrise! Yes, sunrise - even though you’re on the west coast, the house faces east. We saw all kinds of wildlife up there - green and red parrots, white faced monkeys, all kinds of songbirds, and even a toucan! The corner store in town had pretty much everything we needed during the month. Two restaurants right in town were incredibly good and we ate there many times. We’d often make the quick 25-minute trio in to Jaco to hit up some shops, restaurants, a bigger grocery store, or the beach for sunset. Esterillos Oeste is a very small town filled with mostly locals. The beach was often mostly empty. I’m talking about miles of gorgeous flat sand and fun waves, warm water, with dozens of scarlet macaws flying overhead ... beautiful!! The best thing though might have been Yosceliny’s (the house manager’s) quick responses to any questions or issues we had while staying there. Often a technician or repair person was at the door within an hour of me calling Yosceliny. Excellent service. Book this house.
